This is a "Section" - Used to Semantically tag different content blocks on a page.

  • Sections are usefl ways to tell Google "This part of the page is about something specific"
  • You 'can' nest sections, inside of sections, but it's generally not necessary.
  • These are preset styled content blocks, that can be used to create custom grid elements on your page. They also help Google understand that this block of content has a specific type of information.
  • You can then apply different column styles to a section, which will use css "grid" to by adaptive to different screen sizes.

Sections can be divided Into Columns

This is a Second Column

This is another

CSS "Grid" columns behave differently than multi-column text, as each column is a distinct section of content that will not flow to the next column.

This section has the three column grid applied. Grid classes need to be added by switching to "source" view, and then applying the grid class,

If You Want to Keep several block-level elements in one column...

then you need to wrap them in their own nested div element.

Then you will be able to use paragraph breaks

  • And bullet points
  • and stuff like that. Otherwise a new column or row will be created. So... HTML hand-coding is easier for using multi-column grid setups in a styled section.

This is an "autoFit" grid.

It's useful if you want a nice consistent layout grid of images that automatically scales to fit, with a minimum width of 250 pixels. AutoFit grids treat each block level element as a new column, so this means all heading tags, paragraph, div, or even nested sections.
